I’m Pranav Abraham Varikad, a cinematographer crafting visual narratives across short films, music videos, and commercial work. I’m currently pursuing my Master of Fine Arts in CinematographY at Savannah College of Art & Design in Atlanta, USA.
5+ years of experience. Steadicam and Ronin ready rig operator. ARRI and RED camera proficient. TV credits earned for ‘Chef ATL’ working in the camera department, ‘Chef ATL’ is now available on PBS WABE.

Chef atl (2025)
chefATL is a student-produced docuseries created through a collaboration between Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) and Atlanta’s public media station WABE, airing on PBS. The series follows SCAD students as they explore the vibrant and diverse culinary landscape of Atlanta, engaging with local chefs,including James Beard Award winners and nominees to learn about their food, techniques, stories, and the cultural influences shaping the city’s cuisine. Shot on location with contributions from over 100 SCAD students across multiple degree programs, chefATL blends documentary storytelling with real-world production experience, highlighting both Atlanta’s food culture and emerging creative talent.
Roles
I served as Camera Utilities on Chef ATL, where I supported the camera department across fast-paced, documentary-style shoots. My role involved assisting with camera builds, managing media and batteries, maintaining on-set organization, and ensuring smooth transitions between setups. Working in a real-world culinary environment strengthened my ability to anticipate the needs of the camera team, adapt quickly to changing conditions, and contribute to an efficient, professional workflow on a broadcast production.
